LPR has already noted that My Fair Lady marks the 50th anniversary of its Broadway opening on March 15.

There are at least four other musicals that will also reach their 50th anniversaries
in 2006: Frank Loesser's The Most Happy Fella -- May 3; Li'l Abner -- November 15, music by Johnny Mercer, book, by Norman Panama and Melvin Frank; Bells Are Ringing -- November 29, music by Jule Styne, book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green; and Candide -- December 1, music by Leonard Bernstein; book by Lillian Hellman, lyrics, Richard Wilbur on the death of John LaTouche, the original lyricist.
