The New York City Marathon

NOVEMBER 10, 2007 --

LPR took its film camera to 120th Street and Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan, where runners turned the corner, at Marcus Garvey Park, to head down Fifth Avenue to Central Park and the finish line at Tavern on the Green.

Interestingly, LPR learned that the one- two finishers for the men and women were also  one-two at this point in the race:  Paula Radcliffe, England, and Gete Wami, Ethiopia, for the women -- and Martin Lel, Kenya, and Abderrahim Goumri, Morocco, for the men.

LPR recommends this sparsely-attended vantage point -- and compliments Washington Irving High School in Manhattan for the morale boost  its  talented musicians and chorus gave the runners.
