Affordability for The New York Times

JULY 7, 2008 --

Housing should be affordable  but not gasoline

A  paper's position that's one-sided if not mean

The paper's not affordable for me to buy

The Sunday price, three-fifty -- is the reason why

The paper I refer to in these few rhymes

Is of course the high-falutin' New York Times

As Amy Winehouse might say, "No, no, no

No affordable Times instead of the dough"

But if they dropped the columnists one-two-three

And simply printed letters from you and me

Perhaps greater insight -- at far lower cost

But oh the temper  tantrums if the spundits got tossed

Spundit a neologism I dare to say

A pundit who  spins the record like a club DJ

Just give us the facts fairly and straight

And sell The Sunday Times at an affordable rate.
