The New Park ON the Hudson River at 13th Street

June 6, 2021 --

LPR noticed this park last fall and this image of the park appeared on LPR's  April 5 posting .  A friend, recently, emailed a link to a New York Times article about the park's opening.  LPR had on at least two occasions emailed the outfit managing the park for permission to go to the site prior to opening.  The outfit managing the park did not give LPR the courtesy of a reply.  The outfit was contacted at the suggestion of the NYC Parks Department which disclaimed any role in overseeing the park.  At least Parks responded to LPR's email.

LPR will try, now that the park apparently is open, to go aboard the new venue, called Little Island.

(LPR could not read the link its friend sent because the Times wants to be paid to see its online copy.).

Did this park really cost more than $260 million?  Think of the many meals that would have fed the homeless and hungry of the city.

New park not open as of 3/21

Unopened park beyond pilings
