JANUARY
16, 2005 --
After
news of the Rather Report Report, leading to the dismissal of four
CBS newspersons, LPR checked the editorial columns of The New York
Times and The Washington Post to see what they would say.
Nothing on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th
or 15th -- as far as LPR could tell. Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen
did write that the staffers should not have been fired -- but how about firing
some people in the Bush Administration?
Do these leading lights of Medialand tacitly support the use of unsupportable
documents to obtain the defeat of Republican presidents seeking re-election?
Well here is good news for the Post and Times -- on chance they might be annoyed
that internetters called attention to the bogus document on Mr. Bush's service
in the Texas Air National Guard.
The New York Yankees refused to permit LPR to attend the Welcome Randy Johnson
press conference because it
is not a newspaper or TV news outlet.
As last week's photo of Mr. Johnson, posted on LPR indicates -- with
the two photos here shown, LPR was permitted to stand outside the Yankee press
gate. Just where the Post and
Times might prefer internetters -- outside the gate.
Not, of course, to be confused with The Gates.
