Visitors from Nova Scotia

JUNE 19, 2005 --

Prior to the June 19 game between the Yankees and the Cubs, LPR met a group that traveled from Nova Scotia for the game.

Recently, LPR heard from Nova Scotia artist Robb Scott and mention him to the visitors.

Robb has a website now - and LPR commends it to clicksters:

www.robbscottarts.com.

LPR learned that people in Nova Scotia root for Toronto or the Yankees, and also for the Red Sox.

Apparently close tie were formed between Boston and Halifax after an explosion in Halifax harbor in 1917 -- during World War I -- that prompted Boston to send doctors and aid.

LPR was told that each Christmas Nova Scotia marks that act of kindness by sending Boston a Christmas tree.

LPR here sugggests that the Boston Red Sox engage the talented Robb Scott -- he recently completed a commission to design maps for a company in the
Hamptons, on Long Island -- to use his talent to make line drawings of the Red Sox -- and their fans, for display at Fenway Park and throughout Red Sox Nation.
