The Obama Doctrine:
"Behave -- or Be Clobbered"

September 15, 2013 --

And so, President Obama went on nationwide televison, Setpember 10, to ask Congress to hold off voting on a resolution authorizing the use of force against the Assad regime, in Syria.

LPR heard only the opening minutes of the president's remarks. The text of the address, however, makes it clear that the Obama administration is working with the Syrian opposition to Assad, notwithstanding the fact that the opposition includes "extremists." The president apparently holds that U.S. national security interests come into play "when with modest effort and risk, we can stop children from being gassed to death." Apparently, the use of conventional arms that may threaten the lives of children do not raise national security questions for Washington policymakers.

Now, what if the Syrian opposition demands that Christian children convert to Islam? And how about the use of nukes by Iran against Israeli children?

LPR has been inspired by recent comments from Secretary of State John Kerry, to ask: What do you call an anti-war activist who becomes a top-ranking member of the president's cabinet? (Answer) -- A pro-war activist. And so:

Behold the anti-war activist demanding truth from power/But see him in a government post, dissembling by the hour. Also: Soon we'll declare no-fly zones, to protect the Assad opposition from air attacks/enforced of course by U.S. drones, deployed to cover the opposition's backs.
