The House vote on Impeachment II took place on January 13, 2021, one week before President Trump left office, peacefully.

The Senate vote (acquittal) took place three weeks after Mr. Trump had, peacefully, become a former president -- on February 13, 2021.

It must follow that Impeachment II sought to punish a sitting president after he was no longer a sitting president. Talk about flogging a memory!

This, by the way, is what M. Garland, C. Wray, joined, probably, by S. Rice, B. Obama, H. Clinton, J. Brennan, J. Clapper, and J. Comey, inter alia, are all about. For these pathetic denizens of the Deep State, life without the specter of Donald J. Trump is meaningless.
