"Kerry-ism"

My name is John F. Kerry, war hero who's anti-war
Right now I'm not merry, but really quite sore

I demand an end to unwarranted attacks
If Bush doesn't stop, I'm not going to be lax

Obviously I'm bold, brilliant and brave
follow my lead, our country to save

From evil forces, nasty and malicious
greedy, grasping and also capricious

After I'm president the Republican fate I will seal
As I embark on my program: my governing Big Deal

An end to the GOP and their political hate speech
My words will be law, and how wide my reach

LPR proves he really is a lefty.

The Spinach Police

Now that we have rules mandating use of seat belts

From our busily intrusive lawmakers, what else?

Lots of us ignore federal advice on vegetables and fruits

Eating carrots, greens and apples will be the next statutes?

(Based on a study LPR just saw that states we are not eating our fruits and vegetables as "Uncle" advises.)

Wouldn't a real Republican mayor have gotten Columbus Circle ready for the GOP?

Offical neglect--or anti-protest trap?

Think of them not as merchandise, but as mementos.

AUGUST 31, 2004 -- Nederlander defeated Shubert, 6-2, August 26 to win the organizational title of the Broadway Show League.

The show championship will be played September 2 (last day of the GOP convention) between Beauty and the Beast and The Producers.

"Democriticizing"

Democrats, it is perfectly clear, disdain the President
in manner so dismissive as to approach the unpleasident

They probably doubt he is aware of Puccini's Tosca
But thinks Madison Square Garden honors not James, but Oscar

An opposition that is reflexive, and power-starved emphatic
Is this not the the true mindset of the party Democratic

Vociferous liberals amidst the anti-Bush gibes that they mention
Seem not to agree the Constitution allows a New York City GOP Convention

How delightful it would be to learn that Republicans in Madison Square
Have fewer people than at the Democratic Convention qualified as
millionaire

Let it be noted how the Democratic warcry -- "No tax cuts for the wealthy"
Applies not to most of us, but surely to Senator Corzine, Senator and Mr. Clinton, and also Senator Edward M. Kennedy

An Earnest Appeal to Restore Liberty

The Constitution guarantees republican government to the states, It is not clear that we have such government in New York City.

LPR is not aware of any local politicians demanding fines of $65 and $115 for
parking offenses. Yet, somehow these are the fines imposed on plain citizens daily, and often right before our eyes, as parking agents mysteriously appear half a minute after the meter runs out.

Where there is a republican form of government, politicians cannot have it both ways -- silent about the level of parking fines when running for office,
and silent after City Hall imposes draconian fines that threaten to pauperize motorists.

Silent politicians are irresponsible politicians. The media, granted parking privileges by the government forces that squeeze the beleagured motorists, betrays representatives government by its silence.

While politicians try to manipulate voters by means of the fear factor, in the city of the Republican National Convention, City Hall trods on the people every day.

Dammit, we are not grapes!

A New Look Website and a New CD

Kitty Hawk's website has a new look (see link below). Kitty was in New York, last month, for the debut of her "Soul Coffee" CD, and LPR got this photo after a torrential downpour followed by a ferry voyage to Staten Island.

Good luck -- to Kitty Hawk and her new CD "Soul Coffee", and also for her redesigned, zippy new website.

Thank you --

to Paper Mill Playhouse, for holding open auditions for male singers, for your forthcoming production of the delightful musical "She Loves Me."

As this writer sat waiting to be called, he could not help thinking that if the room had been filled with lawyers and not singers, there would have been a huge
amount of billable hours going out. The PMP staff was most courteous and patient -- listening to, was it close to 150 try-outs the afternoon of August 9?

Caveat to any LPR clickster who intends to come to New York City for auditions: don't forget headshots and resumes.

Casting thought --

LPR caught the last performance of "Much Ado About Nothing," and, hearing Jimmy Smits sing a few bars of melody in the play, is convinced he would be a terrific Sky Masterson, in a revival of "Guys and Dolls."

From Candidate City to ...

"Candidate City" is now what New York is called

Hoping for the Olympics just eight years hence

Would the IOC issue this demand quite bald? --

"NYC must waive charges for any IOC parking offense"

Will New York City host the Olympics in 2012?
