A New Reality Program?

This writer has no idea where he will be living a few months from now, and whether he will obtain employment with a sustainable income. Seems to him an idea for a new television program. It might be called: Moving on Down?

Old-fashioned Summer Weather is Back

The New York City area, this summer, has had a number of thunderstorms with sharp lightning, Storms of this type have been rare in recent years. Are we getting a reminder that there is, indeed, a Greater Power than the environmentalists?

So?

LPR is not sure how relevant this fact is to Russian-Georgian relations, but Stalin was a Georgian.

First Congregational Church …

This church, in Litchfield Connecticut, is a popular photography stop for tourists in New England, particularly during the fall foliage season. This photo was taken August 8.

AUGUST 19, 2008 --

Just wondering …

… China, NBC viewers could see August 17, has a women's beach volleyball team.

Are we sure they are still communist?

AUGUST 4, 2008 --

People should know …

… that the strike by health workers (SIEU) at Kingsbridge Rehabilitation and Care Center in The Bronx is now well into its sixth month.

Thank You Nina J. Easton …

LPR learned recently that  Ms. Easton mentioned the name of its proprietor in a footnote in her book  "Gang of Five" (p. 431) after referring to a letter he sent to The Weekly Standard in 1997 (p.372).

Alas the reference on p. 372 called the writer of the letter a subscriber to The Weekly Standard.  Sorry, picked it up at a newsstand. Never have subscribed to the magazine.  Ms. Easton is Washington bureau chief of Fortune magazine and a Fox News Channel commentator.

LPR has no objection at all if Ms. Easton suggests to the people at Fox News that the aforesaid letter writer should appear from time to time on Fox.
