LPR clicksters …

The questions about Tiger in the current LPR poll were written the day before his December 11 announcement that he was taking a leave of absence from the golf tour. (Is LPR ahead of the curve, or what?)

New York Governor David Paterson …

Have not received a reply to the letter I sent you suggesting that penalties on the late tax payments of poor people are a surtax on poverty. How about this? On chance I qualify for welfare [delete that]. relief [delete that], public assistance -- that's better, puts me in the same category as the big boys --said assistance would likely be greater than the $1,000 tax you are dunning me about. I'll forgo the route taken by the big boys; you forgive the tax you presently demand.

Uncle Sam, please copy.

Draft Amendment for the Climate-Change Certaintists …

At a press conference, February 3, 1939, President Roosevelt said "the foreign policy of the United States should not be involved in either legislative or party or newspaper politics."

LPR proposes that the words "and scientific" be inserted between "foreign" and "policy."

"Pirate Radio" …

LPR does not have a current image of Philip Seymour Hoffman and, therefore, this image of Mr. Hoffman, playing in a Broadway Show League game, a few years ago, will have to do. This versatile, Oscar-winning ("Capote") actor is a member of the wonderful ensemble cast of "Pirate Radio," a film that should make it clear to all what this writer's campaign against Con Ed, Verizon (yes. am still using candles and payphones) -- and to get attention paid, finally, to the Dayton Seaside Property tax government flimflammery -- is all about. Thank you Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, and all who brought this marvelous, insightful, heart-warming movie to cinematic life.

Philip Seymour Hoffman

New LPR Policy …

LPR has long noticed that words like "Donate" and "Contribute" appear on websites of all political views.

LPR has, for six years, avoided these words. And still does. BUT, if any LPR clickster would like to help the proprietor defray expenses, checks for no more than $18 (less is fine), payable to "Lonely Pamphleteer Review," will be no problem.

November 22, 2009 …

This date marked the 46th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, who was 46 years old when he was tragically murdered. He would have been 92 years old.

Thanks …

Thanks to Mark Twain for pointing out that the main diffference between a taxidermist and a tax collector is that the former leaves us our skin.
