The Name Madison -- to become More Unpopular than "Redskins?"

Considering the obvious disfavor by which James Madison's ideas on governance are currently viewed in Washington, how soon until the ruling class demands that the name Madison -- for an avenue in New York, or the capital of Wisconsin -- be expunged, and the memory of the Father of the Constitution be blotted out.

Source for Immigration Stats Respectfully Requested ...

The American people have been told that President Obama's immigration proposal will assist some 5 million people. Another statistic used in the immigration context asserts that there are 11 million undocumented persons in the country. LPR respectuflly requests the source or sources for these statistics?

Also, if the president's proposal has particular affect on people who have been in the United States for five years -- if these people are "undocumented," how can they establish the amount of time they have been in the nation?

The New York Times Adopts Tea Party Positions (Kind Of) ...

In an October 28 editorial, The New York Times called for reform of the government bureaucracy. In a November 20 editorial, the Times called for "loosening central control."

Alas, those editorials were directed at Ukraine, not Washington.

LPR's Editorial Cartoon Idea ...

An editorial cartoon in the New York Post suggested that if Republicans were around at the time of the Boston Tea Party, they would have been afraid to act, fearing criticism. LPR suggests this cartoon idea for Democrats: had they been around at the time of the Declaration of Independence, they would have denounced Jefferson, Adams and Franklin as anti-government.

Is this the basis of the bipartisan opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin?

Republicans oppose Putin, seeing him as a throwback to communism. Democrats oppose Putin because he isn't.
