Has anyone else heard ...

... that there are leaks in the new Yankee ballpark, especially when it rains, and also cracks in the concrete.

... that facilities for NYPD stationed at Yankee Stadium will not be ready until next season, and that is why NYPD at YSII have use of temporary structures nearby on 164th Street, but must change clothes at a precinct house about half a mile away.

Experiences of a Government Subject (or Caveat Civis) …

LPR has seen no television since the switch from broadcast to digital reception. Before the switch, reception was fine, with indoor antenna. With switch -- and The Box -- TV gets one channel (NBC) in several guises. (One guise seems always to show indoor swimming races.)

Haven't heard about this in media. Has this happened only to LPR -- or is the semi-official (not Rush Limbaugh's "state-controlled") media covering up the latest case of government fixing something that is not broken.

Has the Pope been reading Federalist 57?

LPR noticed an interesting paragraph from a story on the July 7 Newsmax website, reporting the Pope's encyclical proposing a New World Financial Order. LPR, for years has been citing Federalist 57 in urging our officials to focus on the "common good." LPR's efforts have been unavailing. Will the Pope's remarks make a difference?

"VATICAN CITY -- Pope Benedict XVI called Tuesday for a new world financial order guided by ethics, dignity and the search for the common good in the third encyclical of his pontificat.
