Sorry for the inconvenience …

Due to this special LPR edition, the suggested

cram course for the president on the Middle East

will appear next LPR, along with several other matters --

including, (once again, alas) gas prices and credit cards --

that go unnoticed by the media.

("Sorry for the inconvenience" in NYC is a phrase that is usually announced mindlessly by officialdom at times something serving the public has broken down.)

June 10, 2009 --

Book Signing --

Gene Wilder at Barnes & Noble, Lincoln Sq., May 27.

June 10, 2009 --

Hank Azaria -- just terrific

What the President Really Meant by Change?

On Meet the Press, then-Senator Obama said on Meet the Press, January 22, 2006 that he would not run for president or vice president in 2008.

So when PRESIDENT Obama talked about change, was he referring to change -- of mind?

June 10, 2009 --

How diverse is this?

Judge Sonia Sotomayor will make this change as soon as she takes her place on the Supreme Court of the United States: Harvard Law 4, Yale Law 3. Previously, it was Harvard Law 5, Yale Law 2. (The other spots going to Columbia Law and Northwestern Law.) The Ivy League total remains at 8, with others receiving 1. (The Sotomayor appointment makes it two in a row for Princeton/Yale Law -- Justice Alito is also a tiger/eli.)

Future Supreme Court nomination advice to Republicans ...

Take careful notes how Democrats conduct themselves on the Sotomayor nomination. Cite this conduct the next time, if at all, a Republican president

nominates someone to the Supreme Court. And then get out of the way as Democrats
bluster that their previous conduct has become irrelevant.
