Proudly Declaring Bias Against President Trump ...

A New York Times story, March 11 reported that German Chancellor Angela Merkel would meet President Trump in The White House, March 14. The story referred to the chancellor as “the last defender of the liberal world order.” And the president? He was referred to as “[t] great disrupter.”

A Collateral Thought ...

This latest example of anti-Trump bias at The New York Times was written on March 13, the day before a “blizzard” was predicted for the northeast. LPR understands that all instances of severe weather are now said to be attributable to human-provoked climate change. It might be difficult for leftists to explain a blizzard as an example of global warming – but not impossible. LPR does wonder, however, if this means it has become inadmissible to ascribe severe weather occurrences to “acts of God.” Indeed, LPR has begun to wonder that sources quick to denounce “climate-change deniers” are, themselves, “God-deniers."

An Observation From the Late James Reston ...

The three Elihu Root lectures that New York Times columnist, executive editor and vice president James Reston gave before the Council on Foreign Relations in 1966 were later published as a Harper paperback, under the title The Artillery of the Press. The following appears at page 52: “There is nothing in the Constitution that obliges [the president] to conduct his office for the convenience of reporters.” For LPR, however, the people presently running The New York Times seem convinced that the president must conduct his office for their convenience and that his failure to do so constitutes a threat to the well-being of the nation.

Who Said These Words February 28?

“Our political system is broken. It’s broken because too many of our leaders think it’s all about them. They need to remember that they work for us….” No, it wasn’t President Trump. These words are copied from the text of the reply to the president offered by former Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear. (Or will leftists s claim the Russians hacked the reply to insert these “dark” words?)
