From Daniel Henninger's  November 16  Wall Street Journal  column --

"The Trump opposition believes that  a Trump presidency remains unthinkable and abhorrent, so opposing its is a moral imperative."

A Very Special Thank You ...

Now we have angry leftist voters? . . .

A New York Times editorial, November 9, commented that Democrat Ralph Northam, elected governor of Virginia, defeating Republican Ed Gillespie, "and down-ticket candidates energized voters on issues big and small -- and knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors to translate outrage into votes."

LPR has a hunch the "outrage" it has in mind has less to do with "issues big and small" and lots more to do with the fact that Donald J. Trump is president of the United States.

The November 9 Times editorial also quoted Northam as saying, "'We live in a very diverse society,'" adding, "'It is getting more diverse every day. It is that diverse society that makes this country great.'"

But where is political diversity in the media? Michael Goodwin, in his November 5 New York Post column, pointed out that the "dozen Op-Ed columnists" at The New York Times "are all Never Trumpers." Goodwin commented, "That's either a remarkable coincidence or a litmus test for hiring." Goodwin added that the Times behaves "like a party propaganda outlet [and] takes a coercive approach to anyone with a different view. Objections are demonized as heretical."

November 5, 2017 --

The "expansive" special counsel . . .

The news, October 30, was the indiictment brought by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III against Paul Manafort, briefly campaign manager for presidential candidate Donald S. Trump on a variety of counts, including money laundering and failure to register as a foreign agent. The New York Times, October 30, noted that Mueller was appointed to proble collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia to elect Donald J. Trump the U.S. President. The Times noted that Mueller seems to have taken an "expansive view of his mandate."

The Incisive Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. . . .

Consider, please, the title of the May 13-14 Wall Street Journal column by Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. --"The Russia Coircus Will Drag On Without Comey." To which LPR would now add -- and notwithstanding the fact that Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee funded the "dossier" that was fig leaf to post-election attempts by Never Trumpers to continue to resist the presidential election of Donald J. Trump.

An interesting coincidence . . .

Fusion GPS went to court, before The Washington Post disclosed the source of funding for the Steele dossier, to block the House Intelligence Committee from subpoenaing its bank records. Fusion reportedly retained Christopher Steele to compile the material in the anti-Trump dossier, material that was never substantiated. One of the lawyers representing Fusion in this lawsuit is William A. Taylor III. Previously, Mr. Taylor represented Lois Lerner in her successful effort to refuse to provide information to Congress on IRS harassment of conservative groups seeking tax waivers.

It was reported, October 28, that the House Intelligence Committee reached an agreement with Fusion to gain access to its bank records. The agreement is confidential and sealed.
