LPR learned by online news report, October 9, that President Barack Obama, in office less than one year, has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, apparently for his pursuit of peace.

New York Times finally agrees with LPR that credit card companies engage in "predatory practices...to bleed consumers." (NYT, 10/17 editorial. Some years back, a Times editorial said high interest rates served social justice, helping poor people get credit cards.)
