A Chilling Thought

Prof. Stephen F. Cohen, chatting with John Batchelor on the John Batchelor Show, October 10, wondered if there are policy-makers in Washington whose hatred of President Trump is greater than their fear that provocative measures towards Russia could lead to nuclear war.

LPR Applauds Michael Goodwin …

… on his October 15 New York Post column noting the media’s “collective howl of outrage” over actions taken by President Trump to reverse his President Obama’s policies.. Writes Goodwin: The knee-jerk anti-Trump coverage shows that the media didn’t learn anything from its biased performance during the 2016 campaign. It’s still shilling for Democrats, with the left’s political talking points echoed in headlines, articles and broadcasts.” Goodwin concluded, the media’s “version of Groundhog Day is that [Trump] doesn’t belong in the White House, democracy be damned.”

The Romney Standard

LPR recently thought about  the Mitt Romney comment, in the 2012 election campaign , writing off 47 percent of the voters.  If Romney was accurate, his comment  should  indicate that President Trump’s current 43 percent rating, according to the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, gives scant hope to Hillary Clinton that the 2016 presidential election will yet be overturned.   Another poll indicates that  66% of polled say the president is a divisive leader..  This suggests to LPR that people are persuaded by the media’s campaign to tar as divisive any comment or action that goes contrary to leftist wishes.  But if the media can be so persuasive, how come it failed to persuade enough voters to give Ms. Clinton an electoral college majority?

Happy Birthday

To Lou Ellenport -- October 5 -- mentioned in the book about Bernie Cornfeld: "Do You Sincerely Want to Be Rich?"
