LPR Wonders ...

Why, in the context of the Voter ID controversy, is notice not given to signs in our post offices stating that photo IDs are required for credit and debit card transactions. If photo IDs are okay at the post office, why are they evil at the polling place?

LPR Memo to Redeye Radio,
- attn: Producer Brian Kane

Shortly before 2 a.m., September 9, Messrs. Harley and McNamara assured listeners that they would discuss Benghazi at the top of the next hour. Didn't happen. Not very considerate. Apparently, Redeye has fallen into the credibility gap that has snared the Benghazi facts.

LPR Glitch Alert

The LPR piece "Did Hamilton and Madison Mislead Us?," August 15, included two glitches in the seventh and eighth paragraphs, which referred to Federalist No. 47 when the quotes came from Federalist No. 46. LPR regrets the glitches.

A 1995 Republican Coup?

Previously (June 3), LPR noted how The New York Times, in a news article about the IRS scrutiny of conservative groups, referred to the Republicans' "seizing control of Congress in 1995...." LPR cited the reference as an indication of anti-GOP bias at the Times. August 15, a Times editorial stated that Egypt's Gen. Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi "seized power from a democratically elected government." True enough, in the Egyptian context. But is that context comparable in any way, shape or form to how the Republicans came to power in Congress in 1995? LPR does not expect the Times to acknowledge that its "seizing control" reference to the GOP, May 17, was over the top.
