APRIL 9, 2006 --

LPR drove to UConn, in Storrs, Ct. April 6 on chance of getting a photo-op with women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma, who had just been named to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Coach Auriemma's teams have brought five NCAA championship banners to Gampel Pavilion.

LPR on this visit had to settle for a photo
of a photo of Coach Auriemma, who will be joining UConn men's coach Jim Calhoun as hall of fame laureate.

LPR stopped at Gampel Pavilion, the UConn home court on campus, and noticed a new banner between the two
NCAA championship banners that Coach Calhoun's teams brought to Gampel in 1999 and 2004 -- a banner stating, in part: "JIM CALHOUN NAISMITH MEMORIAL BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2005."

Congratulations Coach Calhoun. And now, congratulations Coach Auriemma. You
have brought honor to your teams, to your university and to the State of Connecticut.

And from LPR's perspective, you personify the common good/close to the people spirit of Federalist 57!
