Did Speaker Pelosi Get Help?

MARCH 28, 2007 --

Conservative commentators have been criticizing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for throwing in all kinds of goodies to special interest groups in a military spending bill that also wants most U.S.
troops removed from Iraq by September 1, 2008.

LPR would like to know whether lobbyists helped Speaker Pelosi draft this measure -- approved in the House, March 23, 218- 212, and if so: who are these lobbyists?

LPR thinks it would be terrific, one day, if Congress adopted a resolution endorsing the West Point motto:

"Duty, Honor, Country." At the present time, however, truth in labeling would probably require Congress to make "Power, Ambition, Party" its motto.
