Pity the poor Democrats, having all the makings of an impeachment but no Republican president to impale..

First please go to the text of the Second Trump Impeachment, which went to the Senate, January 25, 2021 five days after Biden became president and, therefore, represented an action to remove from office a president who no longer was in office!

The text of this second bizarre impeachment also falsely asserted that the demonstrators at the Capitol "killed law enforcement personnel.". The only death on January 6, 2021 at the Capitol was the tragic end of the unarmed pro-Trump Ashli Babbitt, whose assailant Capitoll police officer was reportedly exonerated.

Sen. Rand Paul moved to dismiss the impeachment on January 26, but his common-sense motion was defeated 55 - 45, with five Trump-loathing Republican senators -- Collins, Murkowski, Romney, Sasse,  and Toomey -- joining the Democrats in seeking to remove from office a former president, which must be some kind of oxymoron (emphasis on the last two syllables).

The Senate, by vote of 57 - 43 failed, on February 13,  to convict President Trump on the sole impeachment article, GOP Senators Burr and Cassidy joining Collins, Murkowski, Romney, Sasse and Toomey in voting, with the ravbid Democrats to remove a president no longer in office.

See, too, the Newsweek report of a poll noting support for Biden's handling of the Afghanistan evacuation at 25%. What the Democrats would do, impeachment-wise, with a poll number aslow as that if -- the president were a Republican.   Here is a proposed draft of an impeachment article, demanding the removal of Biden if  he were  a Republican.  And indeed, if Biden were a Republican, the August 23, 2021date of his bowing to Taliban diktat, August 31, 2021, would be set down, by the pro-Democrat media, as "Aug. 23."

RESOLUTION

Impeaching Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors.

Resolved, That Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors and that the following article of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate:

Article of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, against Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States of America, in maintenance and support of its impeachment against him for high crimes and misdemeanors.

ARTICLE I:  Invitation to National Humiliation

The Constitution provides that the House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment” and that the President “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”. Further, section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution prohibits any person who has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the United States from “hold[ing] any office … under the United States”.

In his conduct while President of the United States—and in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed—Donald John Trump engaged in high Crimes and Misdemeanors by inciting violence against the Government of the United States, in that:

On August 23, 2012,  President Biden  announced that he would stand firm on his August 31, 2021 date for the evacuation of all U.S. military forces from Afghanistan, notwithstanding the fact that this deadline was the president's own doing, that  accepting the Taliban's demand for inflexibility on this arbitrarily-selected date placed the lives of untold numbers of U.S. citizens at the mercy of hostile forces in Afghanistan and, further, that in unilaterally declaring  our evacuation, the president failed to consult with key NATO allies, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany, thereby causing grave damage to the NATO alliance, also causing   the United States to be regarded with opprobrium, not to mention scorn from  our allies, the president thereby caused the greatest instance of U.S. humiliation in its more than two centuries of existence as a light unto the nations of the world.

President Biden's conduct, August 23, 2021 followed his prior efforts to hinder  the evacuation of U.S. military forces and U.S. citizens from  Afghanistan, including precipitous withdrawal from the Bagram airfield, leaving the Kabul airport the sole venue for evacuation from Afghanistan, making it necessary for American citizens to pass through checkpoints in the hands of hostile forces of the Taliban. Additionally, President Biden, meeting the press on August 20, 2021, admitted, "This evacuation mission is dangerous."  What could the president have implied, other than that his handling of the end of the war in Afghanistan left Americana citizens in harm's way. In  all this President Biden    endangered the security of  United States citizens and lessened international respect for the  institutions of the United States  Government. He has also threatened to undermine the NATO alliance, interfered with the peaceful transition of power in Afghanistan and  imperiled, in the eyes of the American people, the standing of a co-equal branch of Government. He thereby betrayed his trust as President, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.

Wherefore, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., by  such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security, democracy, and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law. Joseph R. Biden, Jr.,  thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States, it being intolerable that a president who has acted so shamefully should continue in office , not even if he should somehow belatedly extend  the August 31, 2021 deadline, said deadline already having had the effect of sowing discord and chaos at home and abroad, and confusion and disarray, to boot.
