Promoting Liberty, Fair and Square

March 5, 2017 --

The essence of the liberty-loving vision of President Donald J. Trump is, LPR believes, indicated by his assertion, in his address to a joint session of Congress, that health care plans “ must be the plan [the people] want, not the plan forced on them by the Government.” This vision is anathema to the self-anointed elitists of the left, and their Never Trump allies, who, for LPR, believe that government must stand above the people, not with them – and, of course, with government controlled by them.

LPR encourages its clicksters to read the text of the president’s speech -- interrupted some 90 times by applause -- (just google “Trump address to Congress’”) and compare the president’s vision of renewed government of, by and for the people, to the comments of snobocrats like E.J. Dionne Jr. who, writing in The Washington Post, February 16, charged that President Trump, “offering the country a remarkable combination of authoritarian inclinations and ineptitude”, is “unfit” to be president. Where, LPR asks, is there a hint of “authoritarianism,” and “ineptitude” – of unfitness for office -- in these closing remarks of the president’s address?

“From now on, America will be empowered by our aspirations, not burdened by our fears -- inspired by the future, not bound by the failures of the past --and guided by our vision, not blinded by our doubts.

“I am asking all citizens to embrace this Renewal of the American Spirit. I am asking all members of Congress to join me in dreaming big, and bold and daring things for our country. And I am asking everyone watching tonight to seize this moment and --

“Believe in yourselves.

“Believe in your future.

“And believe, once more, in America.

“Thank you, God bless you, and God Bless these United States.”

The New York Times suggested, , March 1, that Democrats are still “focused” on ousting President Trump. LPR expects that the hearts of leftists will increasingly harden in response to every success of the Trump administration, and would suggest that anti-Trump conspirators bear in mind the end of the original heart-hardened official – the Pharaoh at the time of the Exodus.
