An Open Note to J. Justin Riemer, RNC chief counsel
March 19, 2021 -- Sir, I learned the other day that you have written an assertive letter to Alex Cannon, an attorney for Mr. Trump. It seems to me that you should have written a letter of apology to Mr. Trump, directly, if, in fact, the Republican National Committee used his name without his express consent. This, as I see it, is not a constitutional matter; it is a matter of common courtesy. Do you seriously contend that the leader of the Republican Party has no right to see how his name is used in a fund-raising campaign for the GOP? |
