A plea to Republican Candidates
for House and Senate

March 15, 2014 --

Hold back on reflexive endorsement of Speaker Boehner and Senator Mitch McConnell. Consider whether there can be an effective political opposition to President Obama with Boehner as speaker and McConnell as Senate leader. Study the first half of Federalist Paper No. 57 and, in office, maintain close ties with your constituents, not your lobbyists.

State your concerns, if you still have any, about Benghazi and the IRS scandals. Note that we still have no idea what that facility in Benghazi was all about. Nor have leftist senators explained why they pressured the IRS on conservatives groups.

One of the early reports on Benghazi, in The New York Times, said that Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi to attend the opening of a cultural center. Seems to LPR that that explanation should be limited to political discussions occurring on April Fools' Day.
