MARCH
12, 2006 --
A
big thank you to my dear friends Howard and Debbie Jonas for
inviting me to attend the March 8 preview performance of "Ring
of Fire," which opens on March 12 -- just three days before
the 50th anniversary of the opening of "My Fair Lady."
Went with camera, took some photos, and returned the next evening to take some
more.
(The trips to Torrington, were to go to Oddo Print Shop, which does wonders
with my prints, and also to "A Frame Come True," up the East Main
Street
hill from Oddo, which does wonders with Oddo's enlargements.)

Alas,
I was not able to photograph all members of this talented cast,
but the photos included one of Jarrod Emick, who I last photographed
when he was in "A Boy
From Oz" and was the show's third baseman in the Broadway Show League,
which begins play in little more than a month from now.
The reviews will be out by the time this LPR is posted. I never was a big Johnny
Cash fan, but I have to say I left the Barrymore Theater (house manager Dan
Landon, a Brodway Show League player and former league commissioner) feeling
better than when I walked in. There is no traditional story line. Each song
is treated as a separate story, with inventive graphics.
One caveat to one of the photos -- with Shana upstaging the people: That is
a poster of Jonathan Pryce next to Jeb
Brown -- at the left of the photo -- not the real Mr. Pryce.
