Summer Met

AUGUST 28, 2006 --

The Metropolitan Opera scheduled four concert performances of La Traviata and four concert performances of Rigoletto, this summer.

Trav was performed August 22 on Central Park's great lawn, and Rig was performed at the same place the following evening.

The last performance of La Traviata is September 1, in Brookdale Park, Bloomfield/Montclair, New Jersey.

The last Rigoletto will be performed September 2, at Buccleuch Park, New Brunswick, NJ

LPR attended the Central Park performance of Rigoletto with a cast that included Mark Delavan in the title role; Norah Amsellam as his daughter Gilda; Jose Luis Duval, the Duke; Raymond Aceto, Sparafucile; and Nancy Fabiola Herrara, Maddalena. The conductor was
Joseph Colaneri.

In a word, LPR says "bravo" to the artists, the Met and all responsible for producing this free summer concert.

Mr. Delevan and a well-wisher, after the performance.
