JULY
18, 2007 --
Hey Fred -- you're a lawyer. Is the legal concept that plaintiffs should
mitigate damages still valid?
The reason I ask is that, where credit card companies are concerned -- and also
New York City's Parking Violations Bureau, come to think of it--the practice
seems to me expand damages beyond the stratosphere.
LPR has been mentioning the issue for some time and is puzzled that it has
not been touched by the legal establishment. |
I
was just reminded of the credit card Maximize Damages concept when
my latest Discover Card bill arrived, Friday the 13th, wouldn't
you know -- I am pretty
sure I have not used Discover for a number of months and yet my balance is higher
than ever --even going over limit, the new bill says.
Of course, when it comes to credit card damage claims, not even the sky is the
limit. Fred, why is that, do you think? CCCCCs? (Credit card company campaign
contributions.) |
