LPR to Fred Thompson

Hi, Fred --read the other day you said that New York City is different from the rest of the country.

Actually, LPR thinks NYC is just like the country -- except more so.  Granted, the political leadership is basically home-grown.  But you can't tell a city just from its pols. (And maybe we would have different pols if the Republicans hadn't given up the fight here, abandoning the two party system.) Many leaders in -- business,  the  professions, entertainment are from out of town, I think.

Besides, isn't this a time to get the country to pull together, not to encourage pulling it apart?

LPR still believes you ought to be -- pro-active, per current parlance, and speak up a bit for the founding legacy, starting, yup, by talking about the advised set forth  in Federalist No. 57.

LPR to General Motors

Hi GM.

Looks like you are about as loyal to your customers as former Bushies are to 43.  Lost the key to the LPRmobile and apparently this Buick had to jump through hoops to get key programmed  for the car to run.  Probably cost an extra $250 or so.  This is the second time car would not easily program a new key. First time was while warranty was in effect.  I said nothing. Now that warranty is over, realized something is amiss.  Thing is, I'm just the customer -- you guys are the pros. Yet, now am told too bad. Guess I'll have to hold back a bit on next month's car payment. (Note to LPR clicksters: with warranty ended, am also getting emails for new warranty coverage. Have been advised to be warranty wary.)

LPR to Congress

Please be advised am getting buried in email from outfits offering to reduce my debt, reduce credit card interest, and so forth.

(Wonder why they would succeed when the banks ignore my pleas.)

Have a hunch this is in response to my grievance about oppressive credit card interest rates.

Is this why you guys aren't responsive to the financial brutality  of the credit-card issuing banks? Passing the buck to private debt relief groups?

Sorry, ladies and gentleman of Congress -- that is not acceptable, unless, of course, you will defer to private enterprise on a wide range of matters, including health care.
