Trump Elected President
The Ordinary People are Heard
Our Sun Continues to be a Rising Sun

November 19, 2016 --

The spirit of freedom in America prevailed November 8 with a major assist from the nation’s Founders. As of this writing (November 14) Donald J. Trump was elected president with a majority of the vote in the Electoral College, as the Constitution provides for electing a president.

Mr. Trump does not lead the popular vote count, but it is not the popular vote count that elects a United States president. The popular vote count is considered on a state-by-state basis for purpose of determining who the electors will be. The president is chosen by majority vote of the Electoral College. If it is not possible to obtain an Electoral College majority, the matter is then decided in the House of Representatives, with each state delegation casting one vote.

Had the Nation’s Founder not provided for indirect participation by the people on a state-by-state basis for electing a president, the ordinary, and forgotten, people of the United States – the people of what is derisively called “flyover country” -- would have remained forgotten, voiceless, for the next four years, subject to a sneaky, snarky, snooty, snobbish ruling class served by a Pravda-like media.

James Madison, at the conclusion of his “Notes of Debates in the Federal Convention of 1787,” included an anecdote about the image of the sun on the back of the chair of the president of the convention.

He related that Benjamin Franklin, during the debates, could not tell if the image was that of a rising sun or a setting sun. With the work of the convention completed, Madison quoted Franklin’s observation: “But now at length I have the happiness to know it is a rising and not a setting Sun.”

Dr. Franklin, with the election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th president of the Republic which you and your fellow delegates to the Constitutional Convention established, an election made possible by the foresight of the delegates in establishing the Electoral College to keep alive the American spirit of individual freedom, LPR has the happiness to inform you that the Sun continues to be a rising Sun over the United States of America. May God bless your memory and that of your convention colleagues. May God continue to bless America.
