March 5, 2022 --
Katie Pavlich at Townhall, February 28, pointed out that Gernmany's decision, sparked by Russia's attack on Ukraine, to meet its NATO requirements to paythe alliance 2% of GDP, proves that President Trump was on target in criticizing NATO members for failing to meet their 2% commitments. (What say you now, A. Merkel?)
This Trump comments is copied and pasted from the Pavilich piece:
"What good is NATO if Germany is paying Russia billions of dollars for gas and energy? Why are there only 5 out of 29 countries that have met their commitment? |
The U.S. is paying for Europe’s protection, then loses billions on Trade. Must pay 2% of GDP IMMEDIATELY, not by 2025," Trump tweeted in July 2018.
