West Coast sage Hanson concluded his May 14 column, "Imagining the Unimaginable" with this observation:

"When revolutionaries undermine the system, earn the antipathy of the people and face looming disaster at the polls, it is then they prove most dangerous — as we shall see over the next few months."

Ths issue, then, is: Will congressional Republicans prove to be as ineffective in confronting the left as Alexander Kerensky was in Russia, confronting V. I. Lenin. In this connection, recall Benjamin Franklin's comment to a citizen who ask what the Constitutional Convention had wrought: "A Republic if you can keep it."

If Republicans lack the will to confront leftists, abetted by the media, who will do nothing about urban rioting and illegal protests to undermine the United States Supreme Court, led by an administration intolerant of iberty, and who will use power, treacherously, to transform political disagreement into criminal activity, alll the while condoning ballot box abuse, led by an administration on a swift course for war with Russia, will the Republic bequeathed to us by the Founding Fathers exist at the end of 2022?
