VOTE - Viewing Outside The Event
~ Opening Day in Boston ~

APRIL 17, 2005 --

LPR drove to Boston, April 11 for the Red Sox home opener against the New York Yankees. The day before, outside Yankee Stadium, LPR got photos of Hideki
Matsui -- and Sammy Sosa, now with the Baltimore Orioles.

At noon, three hours before game time, the scene was far more crowded outside Fenway Park than it had been last fall, hours before the World Series games. The Red Sox nation had arrived en masse and
very early to mark the ceremonies honoring their team for its 2004 world championship.

LPR found parking available at a Mobil gas station a block from Fenway Park but declined the invitation to pay a $100 parking fee. Unable to get photos of
arriving players, LPR settled for some photos of the opening day atmosphere, including a 2004 world champs banner on the outside wall, and of a Red Sox fan
entering the ballpark via body check. After taking the photo of the Mobil station on Boylston Street, LPR noticed a Boston parking ticket on the windshield, wondering how it could have been served so fast.

It had been placed on the LPRmobile on Landsdowne Street, while LPR gave members of the BPD photos from last
fall, and took the photo of the World Series banner on Yawkey Way. At $75, the ticket is $25 less than that gas station parking charge.

A cheaper parking alternative, if the lot wasn't full.
