David R. Zukerman
Does Not Concede;
Demands Modern Voting Machines

November 10, 2009 --

David R. Zukerman has advised Lonely Pamphleteer Review that he does not concede his campaign to be New York City Public Advocate.

"Indeed, I intend, now, to step up my campaign to advocate for the public," Mr. Zukerman told LPR, adding, "and, so long as G-d gives me the strength -- take that Christopher Hitchens -- I am not going to let up until the new Public Advocate, Bill deBlasio, tells the truth of HUD's role in the Dayton-Seaside property tax manipulation."

Mr. Zukerman asked, ,"How can Mr. deBlasio not come forward with the facts on Dayton-Seaside if he is truly committed to transparency in government and equal justice for all?"

Mr. Zukerman thanks all the people who took the time and trouble to vote for him by write-in. He told LPR that because of the difficulty he had getting the write-in slot to open, and the added problem of moving the levers to vote for candidates on the ballot, Mr. Zukerman will demand that City Hall provide voting machines for New Yorkers that are equal in technological advance to the gadgets used by traffic agents in issuing parking summonses.

Mr. Zukerman also has received one report that a voter was told she could not cast a write-in vote, and plans to follow-up on that allegation.

"What does it say of our priorities," Mr. Zukerman commented, "when we give ticket agents hi-tech devices, and let voters languish with zero-tech machines."

LPR asked Mr. Zukerman about the photo in The New York Times, showing Mayor Bloomberg and Bill deBlasio having lunch, the day after the election. "Wouldn't it be something if the mayor was photographed as he was advising Mr. deBlasio how to deal with my demand for the truth about Dayon-Seaside?" this clearly not-defeated write-in candidate said, with a smile.

Proprietor's note: LPR learned, November 10, that the New York City Board of Elections plans to order new voting machines for the 2010 elections.
