Statement of Senate Judiciary Committee Members Vary in Direct Proportion to Allotted Time?

JANUARY 15, 2006 --

Eric Dash, writing in The New York Times, January 10, reported, "The Dow Jones industrial average closed above 11,000 yesterday for the first time since June 2001, pointing to the renewed confidence of investors who have long been waiting for the market to return to one of its more elusive touchstones. Alas, by week's end, the long wait resumed.

The Dow Jones average closed, Friday the 13th, at 10,959.87. Perhaps investor confidence would be bolstered if CEOs were not quite so self-aggrandizing, and devoted their ambition to the common good. (Establishment of an organization to deter self-seeking CEOs -- Aggrandizers Anonymous -- might be a plus.)
