JANUARY
29, 2007 --
LPR
got an email, two weeks ago, that "celebrity host & model
Paris Hilton" was marking the release of her new single, "Wish" at
a party at Plumm, January 17
.
LPR got to Plumm, on West 14th Street in Manhattan, around the corner from
Manor, on 8th Avenue, before 10 p.m.
It
didn't take long for the club to fill and
LPR began snapping away, continuing until midnight.
LPR cannot say if news about Ms. Hilton filled Plumm, January 17. A few people
did ask LPR if Ms. Hilton was expected and LPR replied to all inquiries: "That's
why I'm here."
At about midnight, LPR was again asked if it was present because of Ms. Hilton.
LPR turned to the gentleman, who was dressed casually, but displayed an
authoritative aura, said, "Yes," and was immediately informed that
she would not show. LPR did not pursue the matter, but simply gathered its
belongings and
departed.
The
New York Post, next day, printed a brief item that reported Ms. Hilton,
according to her press rep, never had plans to be at Plumm -- even
suggesting she might not be familiar with the club.
The Post item did not mention where the celebrity host & model happened
to be the evening of January 17.
The Post item did not speculate if a new TV series: " Where's Paris?" --
is in the works. As to "Where's Plumm?" LPR can state with some certainty
on West 14th Street, near 8th Avenue, around the corner from Manor.
(Seems to LPR Leslie
Howard, as The Scarlet Pimpernel, recited a poem along these lines
-- referring of course to his character in the movie of that name
-- not to Ms. Hilton.)
