was not aware that the children of our chief executives -- governors
as well as president -- are also "firsts," like their moms,
our First Ladies. |
LPR has seen "First Daughter" references to Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush. Barbara is a minute older than twin sister Jenna. In the case of these daughters of President and First Lady Bush, the matter can be finessed by referring to them as "First Twins." Where there are no siblings, First seems preferable to Only. (Please note: this writer is an only child.) |
