JANUARY 24, 2008 --

The new home of the Bronx Bombers is about a year from completion, yet it already carries the name "Yankee Stadium."  

LPR wonders how the current Yankee Stadium feels about the rush to put its name on its successor.

The notice about the days remaining to "pitchers and catchers"  is still posted on the current Yankee Stadium; the accompanying night image was taken January 22.  

On January 22 there were 23 days until pitchers and catchers reported to the Yankees spring training camp. Hmm, isn't it winter training this time of year?

The daytime images, including the photo of the Yankee Stadium -- taken from 161st Street (under reconstruction) and Walton Avenue, were taken January 23.
