The Enjoyable Morale Boosters Reachable Via "You Tube"
(or how to get through this pandemic
as we enter the new year)

January 5, 2021 --

Recently, LPR has discovered that we can not only find terrific symphonic music to watch via You Tube, but also wonderful spectaculars, including the Schools Spectaculars in Australia, opening ceremonies to the Olympic Games (the  2000 Sydney opening ceremony is especially wonderful), complete videos of the Oscars and Tonys, Karl Malden hosting a review of the Oscars from 1971 - 1991, Broadway show tunes, Peter Allen at Radio City Music Hall. Just go to You Tube for your choice.  This, LPR suggests, is a particularly useful tool as we proceed through the Covid pandemic.

For example: you have tickets to the current revival of The Music Man, now on hold with the rest of Broadway shows?    Ask You Tube for Robert Preston doing "Trouble."  You miss hearing Peter Allen's "Once Before I Go."  Ask You Tube for Peter's version, or maybe Hugh Jackman's.

(LPR knows of at least one person who thinks Jackman as Peter Allen is better than Peter Allen as Peter Allen.)

Thanks to You Tube, LPR is here providing the link to the Howard Beale (played by Peter Finch) oration from the movie "Network." (Previously LPR provided the text.)   Whether you forward the link to your congressman or senator  in 2021 is, of course, up to you.  (And for an idea what patriotism looks like, ask You Tube for Peter Allen's "I Still Call Australia Home." Singers include  Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Oprah Winfrey.)
