Envoronmental Activists Clash in Columbus Circle

April 1, 2013 --

A group calling itself  "Protect Our Trees"  (POT) found itself target of rotten tomatoes thrown by members of "Cut Down Excessive Forests" (CDEF), during a rally at Columbus Circle,April 1,  at the southwest corner of Manhattan's Central Park to protest plans to cut down all of the trees in New York City.

Environmental activist Dr. Etaoin Shrdlu, spokesperson for CDEF, told LPR that studies show that the increased use of e-books has resulted in an excessive amount of reforestation,  as fewer trees are  being felled to produce paper.  Dr. Shrdlu explained that the greater number of trees is sending greater amounts of oxygen into our atmosphere, leading, in turn, to greater amounts of carbon dioxide exhaled by humans.  Dr. Shrdlu warned, "to save the planet, it is either trees, or humans, who must be cut down."
